Each pet is tested on their ability to interact calmly, with interest and with no signs of stress.

** Growling, mouthing, jumping, pawing, and/or vocalizing will immediately deem the pet not ready.
* Handpets (rabbits)

Meet & Greet, Handling
(dogs, handpets, cats)

A person runs their hands over and hugs the pet.
Handpets & cats must stay in the person’s lap for interaction.

Neutral Dog
(dogs)

Dogs must walk under control, past another dog with a short pause, without interacting.

Leave It
(dogs)

Dogs can walk by a treat and tennis ball laying on the floor, and allow a person to pass swinging a toy, each time showing little interest and well under control.

Chair Visit
(dogs, handpets, cats)

Pet should enjoy visiting with a person sitting in a chair.
Handpets & cats must stay in the person’s lap for interaction.

Sit, Down, 5-second Stay, Return
(dogs)

Each must be completed in 3 commands or less with no treats.

Moving Crowd
(dogs, handpets, cats)

All pets must be able to maneuver through a crowd without interacting and showing stress.

Equipment – Walker, Wheelchair
(dogs, handpets, cats)

Pets must interact with 2 people using a walker and a wheelchair.

Mob Scene
(dogs, handpets, cats)

Pet must be calm for petting and crowding by a group of 4-5 people.

Walk Along
(dogs)

Dogs must walk calmly, within close proximity to their handler, without pulling or lagging.
